Sarah Geronimo's first heartbreak

Sarah Geronimo became the brightest star of her generation without having to purposely generate much media attention. She usually shied away from controversies, and chose the path of silence.

In an exclusive interview with YES! magazine, her mother—more popularly known as Mommy Divine—explained, "Hangga't maaari, ayaw namin masama sa mga ganyan. Marami kaming dapat ipagpasalamat sa Diyos kaya kung kayang huwag pansinin, huwag na lang..."

But the mom of the Pop Princess made an exception on the Rayver Cruz-Cristine Reyes brouhaha. She did not just issue a statement, but granted a four-hour interview and gave her daughter the go-signal to talk about her "first real" heartbreak.

Most PEPsters expected this. Sarah, despite her superstar status, is human after all. She could be happy and fall in love. She could be sad and feel heartbroken.

When PEP put out the topic "Ano ang masasabi mo sa revelation ni Sarah Geronimo sa YES! magazine?"—24.51% clicked the choice,  "Nagulat ako."

Reviewing the more than 800 comments, the shock factor was on the reasons that caused Sarah so much pain—Rayver Cruz's "panloloko," Cristine Reyes's "Twitter rage," and her mom's parenting style. For the latter, a lot of readers flew in the face of Mommy Divine: "Let Sarah live a normal life."
